六和镇江 by saillena on Flickr. It is said that in ancient times, there lived an irascible dragon king in the Qiantang River. He often flooded people’s houses on the banks with tides. A boy -Liuhe who lost his parents in the disaster led people to fill the river with stones to threaten the dragon king. He is a young hero in the tale.

Since everyone loved my Baba Ganesh so much, I wanted to share my unknown water goddess because how I came to own her is a very special story:
I do not know who this lovely, Asian water deity is or the story of the giant, pink fish at her feet; yet she is one of my most prized possessions.
The lovely, porcelain statue came to me through a friend of a friend, who mentioned having something I might like after accompanying our mutual friend to my apartment.
It seems that, after heavy rains and some flooding, she and a few friends were tubing and came across this statue sunk just beneath the waters; unbroken despite its delicate structure.
She took the odd find home, and happily offered it to me after seeing my apartment.  The statue still has small rocks embedded between the fish’s body and it’s tail from the local waters.
She stands approximately 13”-14” tall.

Does anyone know who she is?
